From the Editor: April 2025

 The article challenges the demonization of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), arguing that the caricature of an “unqualified DEI hire” is a fabricated myth meant to provoke fear. It reframes DEI not as a threat but as foundational principles—accurate representation, fair access to power, and intentional inclusion—rooted in American democracy and even reflected in the U.S. Constitution and the 14th Amendment. The piece warns that attacks on DEI are, in effect, attacks on the very democratic ideals that bind the nation together.
