About Alpha Woolen

Alpha Woolen is a leadership advisor and political voice working at the intersection of governance, strategy, and community impact. She helps public leaders and organizations move from intention to execution—turning complex policy choices into clear, actionable direction rooted in integrity, stewardship, and results.

As Chief of Staff for the Potomac District in Prince William County, she supports high-stakes decision-making across local government priorities—from infrastructure and economic development to community-centered service delivery. She is also the Chief Operating Officer of ROOTED Consulting Group, Virginia’s only Black-owned political consulting firm, where she helps leaders strengthen their strategy, operations, and long-term capacity to lead well.

Across every role, Alpha’s work is guided by a simple conviction: the quality of a community’s outcomes will never exceed the quality of its leadership. Her approach is grounded in “wise counsel” governance—honest assessment, disciplined integrity, and decisions shaped by what people have shown to be true, not what we wish were true. She believes effective advisors advise without ego, and that the wisest leader is the one willing to accept wisdom.

Alpha brings more than 20 years of project and program management experience, including leading teams, delivering complex initiatives to completion, and navigating high-trust stakeholder environments. She is also a founding member of the Northern Virginia Democratic Black Caucus, serves as the Franconia District commissioner for the Fairfax County Small Business Commission, and is a regional vice chair for the Fairfax County Democratic Committee representing Franconia, Springfield, and Mount Vernon. Through her public-access show, Inside Scoop, Alpha highlights policy conversations and elevates the work of leaders from traditionally marginalized communities.
